Pronunciation is a rough guide. If your child's teacher says it differently, go with the teacher.
How to use this at home
Your child practises 8 Irish words about animals, seeing each picture and its Irish word together. Flashcards are the quickest way to build the core vocabulary that school Irish lessons keep coming back to.
- Print on card or heavier paper if you can. If your printer prints double-sided, print page 2 on the back (flip on the long edge) so each card has its English meaning behind it.
- Hide the cards around a room. Each time your child finds one, they say the Irish word before they can collect it.
- Play "guess the animal": describe it in English and your child answers in Irish.
