How to use this at home

Your child practises 8 Irish words about weather, seeing each picture and its Irish word together. Flashcards are the quickest way to build the core vocabulary that school Irish lessons keep coming back to.

  1. Print on card or heavier paper if you can. If your printer prints double-sided, print page 2 on the back (flip on the long edge) so each card has its English meaning behind it.
  2. Stick one card on the fridge each morning and use the word during the day. Swap it the next day, and every few days do a quick quiz of the week's cards.
  3. Each morning, look out the window together and pick the word that matches today's weather. It mirrors what happens in class, so your child will feel ahead of the game.
